Michael Schumacher had another comfortable win at the French Grand Prix. After yeilding his pole position for the forth time to his younger brother Ralf who celebrated his birthday on Saturday, Michael got off to a good start after suffering clutch problems but stayed second. After the pitstops of all the top drivers Michael got into the lead and stayed there until the end of the race to take his 50th Win of his career.
Ralf Schumacher finished second at Magny-Cours after being overtaken on pitstops by his elder brother Michael. Ralf and his BMW Williams in my opinion wasn't as on form as previous races, but he managed to finish 10 seconds behind Michael to put him 1 point above Rubens Barrichello in the Drivers championship.
Rubens Barrichello started 8th on the grid for the French Grand Prix, He managed to take two places on the first lap passing both Jordans on the first corner. After Ross Brawn's excellent pitstop statergy of giving Rubens 3 pitstops instead of 2 got Rubens 3rd place 6 seconds behind the BMW Williams of Ralf Schumacher being closely pressed by the McLaren of David Coulthard being just over 1 second behind Rubens and hoping to push him into a mistake.
Following the technical difficulties that McLaren have had in previous races, They seem to have hit the same technical difficulty once again with top driver Mika Hakkinen, after his car stalled on the grid. His car was pushed back into the pit lane, to see if the mechanics could get it started, but to no avail, Mika Hakkinen was to suffer the same fate as his previous race.
